About Corinda's Music
Blending her vocal training in jazz with a hint of pop, blues, country and rock, Corinda presents a resonance that is sultry as well as exciting.
A graduate of The University of Miami School of Music, Corinda has brought many contemporary genres of music together with several recording projects such as her full CD release of Mr. Sandman, and the soulful blues single of the 1800's spiritual Wayfaring Stranger. Working with The Deliverance Band as her backup musicians at The Bitter End also showed a range of expression to excellent reviews.
Some of her accomplishments include singing The National Anthem at Giant Stadium, and has become the annual Star Spangled Banner performer for The Danskin Women's Triathlon. Several years ago she won the Bronze Award at The Houston International Film Festival for one of the first music videos produced and performed by a solo artist.
Her first single, The Panty Hose Song written with college pal, actress Gail Edwards hit the European Radio Charts at #17 and was picked as the TOP 100 SONGS. Featured in ALLURE MAGAZINE: "It's a 'girlie' song about finding out who you really are rather than what fashion dictates!"
Although her style ranges from up-tempo get out of town lyrics her deeply moving ballads that can reach into your heart and pull at its strings. Mr. Sandman?the title song from her first CD is a complete turn-around from the original interpretations---a perfect example of the crossover combination Corinda has been able to put her stamp on.
Her long-time association with New York Times Best Selling Author, Fern Michaels is proof of that connection. The two women found that they had something in common: they loved animals and hated pantyhose! This led to Michaels mentioning Corinda several times in her latest hardcover best-seller, LISTEN TO YOUR HEART, where Fern also includes the lyrics to The Pantyhose Song.
Several other releases from Mr. Sandman brought rave reviews, particularly You Win-with a playful hint of wit and the slightest touch of sarcasm--jumped onto the charts TOP 40 "with a bullet." Her vocal and emotional range is obvious with a quality of blues.
"She can break your heart and put a smile on your face, all at the same time."
Most recently Corinda has adopted her new musical family The Alliance Singers, where they met after the devastation of September 11. Together they have made music history with American Icon, Bruce Springsteen where they lend their voices to four songs on the critically acclaimed, and Grammy Award winning album, The Rising.
Springsteen's release of The Promise, also carries her background vocals on Breakaway and Someday We'll Be Together, considered the "magnum opus pop tune."
